Job description

DRS Automotive Solutions Japan K.K. is establishing a long-term presence in Japan as part of its global operations across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

We are seeking a Country Manager / General Manager to lead and develop the Japanese business. This role carries full responsibility for the commercial and administrative performance of the organization, including P&L ownership, sales, and internal structure.

The position focuses on business leadership, customer relationships, and market development, while technical operations are managed by a dedicated operations team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full ownership of the Japan business, including revenue, costs, and profitability

  • Leading all sales and business development activities

  • Building and managing relationships with OEMs, insurance companies, and dealership groups

  • Acting as the primary executive contact for key clients

  • Overseeing administrative functions, including finance coordination, contracts, and internal processes

  • Building and developing the local commercial and administrative team

  • Aligning closely with the operations team to ensure successful project execution

  • Supporting strategic growth and positioning of DRS in the Japanese market

This role is designed for a bi-cultural senior professional who wants to take ownership of a growing business and develop it into a scalable, long-term operation.

Job requirements

  • 15–20+ years of professional experience

  • Proven track record in business leadership, including P&L responsibility

  • Strong experience in sales and business development

  • Background in automotive (OEM, Tier 1, dealership networks), technical services, or comparable industries

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage senior-level client relationships

  • Experience working in international environments

  • Strong commercial and strategic mindset

  • Structured, hands-on approach with the ability to operate in a developing organization

  • Leadership experience with the ability to build and manage teams

  • Japanese: Native

  • English: Business fluent
