Job description

DRS Automotive Solutions Japan K.K. is establishing a long-term presence in Japan as part of DRS Group’s global operations across Europe, North America, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific.

We are seeking a Project Manager / Event Operations Manager to lead and execute large-scale automotive projects following hail events. This role is responsible for managing on-site operations, coordinating multiple teams, and ensuring successful project delivery under time-sensitive conditions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full ownership of project outcomes, including timelines, quality, and client satisfaction

  • Planning and executing large-scale triage and repair operations after hail events

  • Coordinating and managing teams including:

    • AI vehicle scanning teams

    • PDR technicians

    • R&I (removal & installation) technicians

    • quality control staff

  • Acting as the main point of contact for customers during project execution

  • Managing on-site workflows and ensuring efficient resource allocation

  • Monitoring quality standards and ensuring consistent delivery

  • Using internal software (DRS SKY) for project tracking and reporting (training provided)

  • Supporting communication between operations, management, and customers

This role is designed for a hands-on professional who can take ownership in dynamic environments and manage complex operations on-site.

Job requirements

  • 3–8+ years of experience in:

    • project management

    • operations management

    • field operations or similar roles

  • Experience coordinating teams in fast-paced or operational environments

  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders under time pressure

  • Hands-on mindset and willingness to work on-site

  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage customer interactions

  • Comfortable working in dynamic and sometimes unpredictable environments

  • Basic digital skills and willingness to learn internal systems (DRS SKY)

  • Japanese: Fluent / Native

  • English: Intermediate
